Agriculturist

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Agriculturist is responsible for providing support to the Agri-business farm by introducing effective farming techniques and interventions for better crop management.

1.Provides inputs in strengthening farm production techniques and soil management procedures to improve crop yield production and quality.

2.Coordinates closely with the Agri-business Consultant; absorbs new and reliable farming techniques that can be learned from the Consultant.

3.Monitors all stages of plant growth including nutritional requirements, along with identification of insects, diseases, weeds and appropriate control options.

4.Maintains accurate and detailed crop production records; provides management with crop reports, detailing expenses incurred, materials usage, total crop harvested, etc.

5.Provides inputs into planning, scheduling and marketing of produce.

6.Educates farm personnel on proper farming method and best practices for soil management and conservation.

7.Performs other duties that may be required from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of BS Agriculture, BS Agronomy

3 years related work experience

Leadership and management skills

Analytical and skillful

Good communication and people handling skills
